2019 term 2: week 5: Spreadsheet Assessments
North Platte High School students have been working with a variety of spreadsheet types, and we have been incorporating research, data, and analytics with our work as well. Next week we will review over our main features of Excel that we have emphasized, and will start putting together a few business spreadsheets that will be used as our summative assessments for this section. Students have been working hard, and we have been having some good discussion regarding the use of analytics in different areas.

2019 term 2: week 4: Spreadsheets
Students have finished up their summative assessment work for Microsoft Word by creating their cover-letter and resume, and also their formatted APA research topic on ethics of data collecting. We are now moving on to the next section, which will be using Excel to create advanced spreadsheets for data collection and manipulation.

2019 term 2: week 3: themes and formatting
Info tech 2 students have been hard at work learning advanced features of Microsoft Word. We have recently put together a template of matching cover letter/resumes that students can use for job, college, internship, and scholarship applications. Anytime we can utilize our class work for something to help us in real-world situations is a good thing! We will start learning some ways to set themes and formatting, and will begin learning how to use Microsoft Word to help us with the formatting of research paper writing.

2019 term 2: week 2: Microsoft Word
We have been getting our network folders set up, our printer added, and learning how to use our resources that we have for info tech 2 this term. Students had an opportunity to talk to representatives from MPCC if they are interested in taking this course as dual credit. Students must be registered at MPCC by Monday at 3:00 pm. Next week, we will start learning advanced features of Microsoft Word, getting students to be career and college ready with word processing skills.

2019 term 2: week 1: Welcome to Info Tech 2
Welcome everybody to Information Technology 2! Computer Apps 2 is about being career-ready using Microsoft Office. Students will be learning advanced features of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and will learn about multi-application interaction using all of these programs. This course is also offered Dual Credit, and students can get college credit through MPCC. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone Monday!!

2019 term 4, week 3: Finishing Word
Info Tech 2 students have been working through Microsoft Word and are to their summative assessments. Students are researching information on data collection techniques for various technology companies (online stores, social media, etc.). Students are then putting their information into a formatted report using Microsoft Word. Once we turn this in, we will start learning advanced features of Microsoft Excel!

2019 term 4, week 2: Microsoft Word
We are off to a great start! Last week we were able to get to know each other and review basics of Microsoft Office. We spent some time creating some flyers, formatting text, and learning how to save files as a pdf. This week, we will be learning to create cover letters and resumes from templates, and also from scratch. We will then start moving on to the correct way to setup Word to create research papers with properly cited sources, and more.

2019 term 4, week 1: Welcome to Info Tech 2!
Welcome to Information Technology 2!! This course can be offered as dual credit at MPCC as well!! This week, we will becoming familiar with class procedures and expectations. We will have a representative come visit the class to explain dual credit opportunities and registration procedures. We will also be getting our IT user-names and passwords, then will start learning the features of Microsoft Word 2016. This class will prepare students with advanced skills in Microsoft Office, which are essential for a wide variety of careers. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday!!
